Roll-off dumpster rental in Tamarac

About 11 miles northwest, roughly 20 minutes — Powerline Road to Cypress Creek and McNab; or Commercial Boulevard west.

Tamarac is north and west of the yard: Powerline Road to Cypress Creek Road and McNab, or Commercial Boulevard straight west, about twenty minutes. The Turnpike exit at Commercial is the quick way in from the south. Plan on next-morning delivery.

Developer Kenneth Behring founded the city in 1963 around one-story homes with a clubhouse and a small monthly fee for lawns, painting and roof cleaning — "the convenience of a condominium with the privacy of a single-family home" for retirees. The City's own history page says it is no longer just a retirement destination, and the housing — a quarter of residents are over 65 — is at the age where kitchens, roofs and floors all come due.

Local knowledge

Getting our bearings in Tamarac

Knowing a city properly is the difference between covering it and showing up with the right box.

  • Tamarac Lakes (1963) was the first Behring neighborhood, on the east side; the Mainlands and the Woodlands followed.
  • Kings Point is the big 55+ community; the City runs dedicated events for its residents.
  • Colony West Golf Club is city-owned, with a new clubhouse since 2021; Caporella Park has the splash pad, pier and amphitheater.
  • Median age 47.5, with 26% of residents over 65 (Census) — a lot of estate cleanouts and accessibility remodels.
  • Waste Management is the franchise hauler; bulk is capped at 3 cubic yards a week and WM will not take landscaper or roofing debris.

What comes out of Tamarac properties

Whole-condo and whole-house estate cleanouts, roof replacements on 1960s–70s single-story homes, and kitchen and bath remodels — a 20 for the cleanouts, a 15 or 20 for the remodels, a 10 loaded level for the terrazzo and tile. The City asks that containers be stored out of view of the right-of-way.

Permits, placement and access in Tamarac

Swale and right-of-way: City Code Sec. 20-114 prohibits placing refuse, concrete block, coral rock or any material that could cause a hazard on the swale within ten feet of the pavement. Sec. 20-118 lets the City Commission grant a temporary revocable permit to place an object on the right-of-way, with a fee set by resolution — no dumpster-specific form exists. Public Services – Engineering, 954-597-3737. Keep it on the driveway.

Private driveway: no City rule found requiring a permit for a roll-off on private property.

Hauling: Sec. 19-75 requires anyone hauling construction and demolition debris over Tamarac streets to hold an annual City permit (through the Building Department) and to mark every container with the owner's name in two-inch letters. Tell us the job and we will tell you where it stands.

Summarized from the city's published code and web pages as read in October 2026. Codes change — confirm with the department listed before you rely on it.

How it works

Booking a dumpster in Tamarac

Booking a container here takes one phone call and about five minutes.

  1. 1

Call and tell us the job

One short conversation. We ask what you are clearing, where the container needs to sit, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us. No forms, no waiting on an email.

  2. 2

We size it and quote it flat

You get one number covering delivery, the 7-day rental, pickup, disposal and a stated tonnage allowance. If a smaller box does the job we will say so.

  3. 3

    Delivered where you want it

The driver walks the spot with you and sets the container square on the driveway, lot or job site, boards under the rails. Same-day in Fort Lauderdale if you called before noon.

  4. 4

    Load at your own pace

Keep it level with the top rail and keep the banned items out. Need a swap mid-job or an early pickup? One call and we are on it.

  5. 5

We haul it and sort it right

Concrete, metal and green waste get routed for recovery where Broward's facilities allow; the rest goes to the right disposal site. You get your driveway back the way you left it.

Local answers

Dumpster rental in Tamarac — common questions

How fast is delivery to Tamarac?

Next morning as a rule. Commercial Boulevard runs are common, so ask about the same afternoon.

Can a dumpster sit in the swale in Tamarac?

The code bars hazard-causing material within ten feet of the pavement and reserves right-of-way placement for a Commission-granted temporary permit. The driveway is the practical answer.

Will Waste Management take my roofing debris?

No — the City's FAQ says WM will not collect debris from landscaping or roofing contractors, and bulk is capped at 3 cubic yards a week. That is container work.
